Quilted nails

Good morning!

Well I hope it's good for you anyways ;) Thursdays aren't particularly one of my favorite days because I generally work 10 hours -_- But money talks right? LOL Not to mention I'm dealing with my poor baby puppy Leana who hurt her paw really badly two nights ago (if you follow my on Twitter I posted a pic there). It's still not healing well and she won't even walk on it :( Sadness... But she's a resilient little pup so I'm sure she'll be back to normal in no time :)

On with the nails! So a few days ago someone posted to FB.. I can't remember who.. but they posted THIS pic of dotted quilted nails and I thought they were so cute! Obviously I tried to recreate them ;) They didn't come out as good as I hoped for but I still loved them none the less!

Colors used:
- China Glaze Escaping Reality
- Black Acrylic Paint
- White Acrylic Paint

So you know those days where no matter how hard you try nothing comes out right on your nails? That was totally me the night I did this. I had to repaint my nails a million times! Every time I was close to done I'd mess up my pointer or middle finger. I think I messed up my pointer four times and my middle two times *sigh* Oh and throw a thumb in there once too LOL. But I perservered and finally came to these ^^ I'm really happy that I put the white highlight on the dots they look almost 3D now ha!

Keep Calm and Stamp On ;)

Hello lovelies!

I've been missing my stamping lately and yesterday I managed to get my hands on Pure Ice Silver Mercedes which I heard stamped beautifully so you know I had to try it out! I also managed to get to an Ulta and picked up my first two Essences in the new bottle, a really pretty Ulta glitter, and OPI My Boyfriend Scales Walls :D I was really hoping to get a Layla Holo but alas there were none there :( I'll have to go to another one I guess ;)

So everyone who said the Silver Mercedes stamps amazingly was absolutely correct!! I couldn't be happier with the results! I'll have to stamp with Silver Mercedes and Sally Hansen Silver Sweep to see which one is best though. I also got a chance to try out one of the new Essences so check this out! :)

Colors used:
- Essence Let's Get Lost
- Pure Ice Silver Mercedes

I'm not sure why my fingers look so weird in those two pics... poor modeling I suppose -_- LOL.

So awesome! I love Essence Let's Get Lost so much! It only took two coats for opacity and dried so shiny! Not to mention I'm totally digging the new bottles, they click closed which is really helpful and the brush is super wide which I personally love!

It's crazzzzy dot time!

Good morning!

Now that Monday's over I think I'll be able to make it through the week ;) how about you guys? The upside to yesterday though is that we got some snow! Yay! No real accumulation but hey snow is snow right? Last year we got next to nothing besides the weird October storm so I'm hoping Mr. Winter has a little more in store for us this year.

I hope you guys aren't tired of dots because I think I went a little crazy with this one LOL! I just wanted some dots and some how ended up with a lot of them! I think it's pretty cool though so check it out! :)

Colors used:
- Lime Crime Pastelchio
- Lime Crime Lavendairy
- Lime Crime Parfait Day
- Lime Crime Once in A Blue Mousse
- Sinful Colors Black on Black

I love the pastels against the black background I think it really makes them pop! From far away these puppies looked SO cool! All I used was a large dotting tool and a toothpick, super easy!

If you don't follow me on Twitter then you missed this pic but one of my babies was helping me edit these pics last night.... for payment in cookies of course ;)

And because she'd be mad at me if I excluded her here's my sleeping beauty :)

Faded dotted gradient

Good morning!

Ugh it's Monday isn't it -_- Welp might as well just jump right in right? Work is being kind of bleh for me lately but hopefully this funk will end soon ;)

Anyways I took to Twitter last night for some more nailspiration and the lovely Inky from Inky Whiskers Musings let me know that my blog has been seriously lacking in the dotticure area ;) LOL And I couldn't agree more! I actually did two dotticure designs last night and this one just happened to be one of them! I've been wanting to try a faded dotted gradient thingy for a while and definitely digging the results... take a look! :)

Colors used:
- Maybelline Color Show Green With Envy
- Black Acrylic Paint

I just think this is so cool! I was afraid while I was doing it because I didn't think it would actually look like a gradient but I think it actually does.. Score for having something actually turn out like it looked in my head! LOL

The look was really easy to create. I just painted my nails with my base color, then I used a large and medium dotting tool for the bigger dots and a toothpick for the smaller dots at the top. All I did was place the dots at random getting smaller as I got closer to my cuticle. See easy peasy! :)

Oh and if you haven't visited Miss Inky's page then you totally have to! She is SO sweet and her nails are always fab! So go show her some love!! :)

Totally tape-ular dude!

Happy Sunday!

I hope your weekend is going well! I was SO unproductive yesterday -_- I was planning on painting my nails at least twice maybe three times and only ended up painting them once... but it's ok because I am totally loving them! LOL I decided to break out the trusty striping tape and just do something random, too bad I can't actually do anything random because I am WAY too OCD -_- hah! I still think they came out pretty BA though so check them out!

Colors used:
- Lime Crime Once in A Blue Mousse
- FInger Paints Late Night Rendezvous

I did a different design on my right hand since I knew I wouldn't be able to do the one above on it. I mean I probably could but it took me almost an hour and a half just to lay the striping tape down on my left hand and I really didn't feel like doing that again -_- But it's actually quite cool so here's a close up of my right ring finger :)

Simpler but they kind of look cool together. I should have taken a photo with both my hands... oops! I really love using striping tape! Well, I hate cutting it and placing it and finding that stupid end piece, but other then that it's awesome ;)

Disney Days: THE RETURN!

Hello lovelies!!

I am SO excited to show you guys my nails today! Back when I first started blogging I tried to start what I called "Disney Days". The idea behind Disney Days is to post a mani inspired by a Disney movie once a week. I did.... one... LOL I just got super busy so it kinda just fell away :( Well not anymore! I've decided to bring it back because I love Disney movies! I'm going to try (emphasis on TRY) to post a Disney Days mani every Saturday :)

So on to the first installment of the new Disney Days. I asked my family what the first Disney movie to pop in their heads was and my sister said 101 Dalmatians. So today's Disney Days is 101 Dalmatians! Take a look :)

Colors used:
- Sally Hansen White On
- L.A Colors Striper in Red
- Sally Hansen Teal Steel
- Lime Crime Parfait Day
- China Glaze Glistening Snow
- Maybelline Color Show Bold Gold
- White Acrylic Paint
- Black Acrylic Paint

ugh bubbles -_-
I decided to do Pongo and Perdita on my nails because I think they are the most recognizable of all the dogs :)

If anyone wants to do Disney Days with me you are more then welcome to! The more the merrier right? ;) If you decided you would like to do it with me send me and email at: kjones622@hotmail.com and I'll let you know what next week's movie is! :)

Also if you have a Disney movie you want to see let me know by sending me and email or just commenting below!

So what do you guys think? Do you like Disney movies?

Have a little heart will ya?

Good morning guys!

I've got my first Valentine's Day mani for you :)

I love Valentine's Day.... Yes I'm one of those people ;) LOL Well the main reason I like it is it's my boyfriend's and I anniversary so that makes it extra special... cliche right? Oh well! So anyways I was looking for some inspiration for some Valentine's Day nails when I came across THIS mani by the lovely The Girlie Tomboy and knew immediately that I needed to try it! It combines two of my favorite things: hearts and leopard! So anyways here's my first Valentine's Day mani of the season :)

Colors used:
- Lime Crime Parfait Day
- China Glaze Escaping Reality
- White Acrylic Paint

I especially loved using Lime Crime Parfait Day as a base because it's such a bubble gum pink! I love it!

On a side note: my nails are growing!! I'm so happy!! I miss my longer nails... not that they were all that long but if you've been a nail biter like me then you know that any length is a miracle in itself ;) And you know how sad I was to cut them down :(

If you haven't visited The Girlie Tomboy yet you absolutely have to! My version doesn't hold a candle to her's she's really amazing! So go show her some love!! :)

So what do you guys think? Do you like Valentine's Day?

Some subtle stamping

Good morning!!

Ack I'm being so bad! -_- I keep showing you guys these lovely Zoya polishes before I show you the actual swatches... Ooops ;) I couldn't resist this one though. I wanted something nice and clean and fresh because this was right after I had to file my nails way down. I was a little depressed to say the least LOL so I picked a bright color to brighten my mood! I got Zoya Mitzi with my 3 free and knew I had to use it for this!

One good thing about filing my nails is every time I file my nails I like to give myself a full manicure which always makes my hands feel so good! I really should do it more often I'm just lazy... hah. But anyways check out my bright and cheery undepressing mani ;)

Colors used:
- Zoya Mitzi
- Sally Hansen Silver Sweep

Mitzi is a matte polish so I kept it that way here but you know I couldn't leave well enough alone and had to add some stamping :) I like how subtle the stamp is here and I'm really happy that I kept it matte which I rarely do. Hmmm maybe I should do more matte manis? Opinions? :)
